Volunteer in Watamu, Kenya
OVERVIEW
We are very excited to announce that in Summer 2024, we will be partnering with A Rocha in Watamu, Kenya. A Rocha is an international Christian Charity that specialises in conservation and community outreach programmes.
​
A Rocha would like us to build some water tanks for rural communities, training local people in this skill. There is currently a huge demand for water tanks with the ongoing drought.
​
There is also the opportunity to get involved in some sports lessons at a local school as well as teach health lessons. You can also take part in ringing of the birds.
​
You will stay at Mwamba, A Rocha's guesthouse which is on the shore, overlooking the Indian Ocean. The accommodation is very comfortable with communal areas to chat and play games in the evening.

Costs include: all the in-country essentials including accommodation, transport, driver and guide, full insurance, food and water, a full day’s orientation in the UK
​
Costs exclude: flights, visas ($50 tourist visa), vaccinations, any additional excursions or overnight accommodation in Nairobi if required
​
Optional excursions: There is the opportunity to go on safari in the Masai Mara National Park for an additional cost.
​
Fundraising: We ask our volunteers to try to raise around £300 before they depart. This will go towards your building projects, medical work, gifts to those in need and more!

We offer regular departures from January through to December and can be very flexible so please get in touch if the dates below do not suit you or you want a shorter trip:
