Volunteer in Watamu, Kenya
OVERVIEW
Lindi is a lovely coastal town 2 hours drive north of Mtwara. It is quiet, with a certain old world charm. The coastline is made up of beautiful unspoilt sandy beaches with thick native forest inland. We are excited about linking up with an amazing charity called Kilimo Timilifu. Their aim is to set up demonstration farms in Lindi and other areas in Tanzania to show subsistence agriculturalists how to make a profit and prosper. We are starting this summer to build water tanks, introduce goats farming and help in the home schooling of two families.

Costs include: all the in-country essentials including accommodation, transport, driver and guide, full insurance, food and water, a full day’s orientation in the UK.

Costs exclude: flights, visas ($250 for both an entry visa and for a volunteer permit), vaccinations, tourist trips and safari’s or overnight accommodation in Dar Es Salaam if required.
​
Optional excursions: Volunteers can enjoy swimming in the gorgeous sheltered bay, scuba diving and deep-sea fishing! There is the opportunity of visiting the stunningly beautiful Misambati Marine Reserve, which is five hours drive away with the option of staying overnight in a very cool, but cheap beach resort. Or you could go on safari in the Selous Reserve, the largest reserve in Africa!

Fundraising: We ask our volunteers to try to raise around £300 before they depart. This will go towards your building projects, medical work, gifts to those in need and more!
In Lindi we partner with people who are helping provide classrooms, repairing wells and supporting some of the poorest people in Tanzania.

We offer regular departures from January through to December and can be very flexible so please get in touch if the dates below do not suit you or you want a shorter trip:
